Pickup truck creates new meaning for "drive-thru" at Dairy Queen

The Rayne Police are investigating a one-vehicle collision of a truck that wound up inside the Rayne Dairy Queen (DQ).

At 6:33p.m. on Sunday, Rayne Chief of Police Carroll Stelly said that his department said his department received a call reporting that vehicle had crashed into the Dairy Queen Restaurant located at 1320 The Boulevard.

At the scene, officers discovered a 2004 Chevy truck that, according to release, "had jumped the sidewalk and went through the North wall of the restaurant before it came to a stop near the service counter."

A female victim was transported via Acadian Ambulance and was treated for moderate injuries. Several other victims reported minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
