The Community Foundation of Acadiana's third annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon is going on now at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette.
CFA will present a Leaders in Philanthropy Award to the following outstanding philanthropists in each of the eight parishes in its service-area:
Acadia Parish - Raymond and Catherine "Kitty" Hensgens Evangeline Parish - Suzy Bulliard Lemoine
Iberia Parish - Jerry & Harriet Shea, Sr.
Lafayette Parish - Dwight "Bo" & Jerry Ramsay
St. Landry Parish - Keith & Ginger Myers
St. Martin Parish - Jane G. Bulliard & Patricia D. Resweber
St. Mary Parish - Dr. Thomas F. & Mrs. Glenna G. Kramer
Vermilion Parish - Jim & Charlotte Doyle
Nominations for the Leaders In Philanthropy Awards were received from CFA stakeholders to recognize an individual, couple or group who has made an impact in their community through philanthropy. Award recipients either reside or work in the parishes in which they are receiving the award.
CFA's Board of Directors Emeriti reviewed all applications and made final selections.
"We are very proud of the process the Foundation underwent to carefully select the 2013 Leaders In Philanthropy award recipients," said CFA President & CEO Raymond J. Hébert. "We thank these individuals for allowing us to honor and recognize them at this special event."
The keynote speaker is Roy Spence, co-founder and chairman of GSD&M, a national and leading marketing communications and advertising company. He is also co-founder and CEO of The Purpose Institute, a consulting firm that helps people and organizations discover and live their purpose.
Along with Haley Rushing, Roy co-authored the Wall Street Journal bestselling book "It's Not What You Sell, It's What You Stand For: Why Every Extraordinary Business is Driven by Purpose."
Spence will speak about entrepreneurism and charitable giving.
