LACC would like to thank the community for a great offsite adoption at Paul Michael's. There were 12 loving adoptions!


Lafayette Animal Control Center offer a Surrender Prevention Crisis Hotline 337-291-5644.

This hotline will deal with issues pertaining to:

* BEHAVIORAL information on dogs/cats (such as digging, jumping over fence, aggression, dog who runs off, storm anxiety, cat litterbox issues, etc)

* Spay/neuter and vaccinations info (Call for financial info on that)

* Info to help with HW issues, Care Credit - 6 mths interest-free.

* PET-FRIENDLY APTS for all dog sizes, which Assisted living apts take pets

* LOST AND FOUND info, all kinds of ideas.

* RE-HOMING a pet info and list of Petfinder.com/RESCUES

If you are thinking about adopting a pet they receive a physical exam, deworming, and core vaccinations (FVRCP for cats, DAPP and Bordatella for dogs). PLUS a Rabies vaccination if they are over 12 weeks old (for cats and dogs less than 12 weeks old, a $10 Rabies voucher will be issued, to be used when they are old enough to receive the vaccine). Before leaving the shelter, each animal is microchipped and registered to the new owner (or the rescue group who pulls them).

Meet and Greets at the shelter is from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Monday through Friday.
