Petroleum Theft and Chase Ends in Arrest


The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Directed Patrol Unit responded to a report of a suspect driving a silver Cadillac attempting to steal fuel from fuel storage tanks at  the Squirrel Run maintenance department. No suspect was locatedat that time.  However, the Directed Patrol Unit returned later in the night to check the area for the suspect and located a silver Cadillac parked at a fuel pump inside the golf course. A light skin black male was observed with a fuel nozzel in his hand. The suspect sped away in the vehicle backwards cutting through the golf course at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was later located on the golf course next to Darby lane unoccupied. The fuel nozzle that was used by the suspect was located next to the vehicle a silver Cadillac DTS bearing a Texas liecnse plate.   The suspect  matched the photographs found in the vehicle and a driver's license photograph of the vehicle's registered owner. Suspect Jaminson Linzer  DOB: 02-21-1977 of 136 George Town rd Franklin will be charged on warrants with attempted theft of petroleum products, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass and wreck less operation of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was processed by the IPSO Crime Scene Unit and towed with a hold placed on the vehicle.
