NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A person has driven off the Judge Seeber
bridge, which spans New Orleans' industrial canal, after running a
red light and driving through barricades and cones that were set up
for construction work.
Witnesses who were fishing nearby told WWL-TV they saw the car,
heard a crash and then saw it fall straight down from the bridge
into the water below about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Harbor Police, the U.S. Coast Guard and the New Orleans Police
Department are searching for the vehicle and driver, who is
presumed dead. It was unclear whether the car's driver was the sole
