BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Hot air balloons are heading to Baton
Rouge's skies this weekend, with 40 balloon pilots scheduled to
compete in the Pennington Balloon Championship.
Cash prizes are on the line for competitors over three days of
events. The first competition begins Friday.
The free event is an annual tradition in the capital city. It
includes skydiving displays, fireworks and live entertainment.
Organizers say the balloon championship draws an average 50,000
watchers each August.
