Pedestrian Remains in Critical Condition

On October 28, 2009, at approximately 7:00 pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to the 5700 block of Johnston Street regarding a crash involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian, Quintrell Leblanc age 46 year of New Iberia, was attempting to cross the southbound lane of Johnston Street when he stepped into the path of a vehicle. Leblanc was struck and thrown into the median area before coming to a rest. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital were he continues to remain in critical condition. The operator of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lafayette Police Department Traffic Section.
