Pedestrian Killed Today in Amelia

The search is on for a hit and run driver, who killed a pedestrian early this morning. Louisiana State Police Troop I is investigating the fatal hit and run crash on LA 182.

It happened at 4:16 a.m. Troopers say an unknown vehicle was traveling east on LA 182. For unknown reasons the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck 29-year-old Weston Groves of Jacksonville, FL. After striking Groves, the vehicle fled the scene. Groves was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Mary Parish Coroner.

This case remains under investigation.
