Pedestrian dies in Vernon Parish crash

ANACOCO, La. (AP) - State police say an 84-year-old Hornbeck man was struck and killed by car as he walked on U.S. Highway 171.
The accident happened at around 5 a.m. Monday.
Troopers say Robert Edward Michalk was walking in the middle of the outside lane of U.S. 171 when he was hit. Michalk was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
