In a press release Louisiana State Police reminds pedestrians that State Law requires pedestrians to walk on a sidewalk if one is provided. If no sidewalk is provided pedestrians must walk on the left shoulder, or as far to the left side of the road as practical, against the flow of traffic. Troopers also recommend that pedestrians wear light colored, or reflective clothing if walking on the road between dusk and dawn or during times of inclement weather.
