Passenger in Pont Des Mouton crash dies

A passenger involved in a crash last week on Pont Des Mouton has died. Darryl W. Melancon, 56, of St. Martinville died from injuries he received in the accident on Wednesday, May 16. The crash happened when the driver of a gold Mazda, traveling on Pont Des Mouton, hit a silver Ford Taurus which was traveling from the northbound I-49 ramp onto Pont Des Mouton, said Cpl. Paul Mouton. Melancon was a passenger in the Taurus.
