Festival International de Louisiane announced Tuesday the appointment of Missy Paschke-Wood as its new executive director.
Paschke-Wood, a native Texan, will begin working with the festival on Oct. 21.
Her background is in music and theater but her professional experience has been focused in non-profit and arts administration. Prior to joining Festival International de Louisiane she worked as the marketing and development Director at Yavapai Humane Society in Prescott, Ariz. and marketing manager for Arizona Theatre Company, in addition to consulting for many other non-profit organizations.
In 2012, she was awarded the Young Visionary award by the Prescott Area Young Professionals for her community work.
"I am thrilled and honored to join the incredible team at Festival International," says Paschke-Wood. "Like many people across the nation, I knew of the festival and it helped influence our family's decision to make Lafayette our home. My goal is to serve the festival by supporting our staff and board in every way that I can to make sure Festival International de Louisiane continues to be the premier Francophone festival in the United States if not the world."
Paschke-Wood relocated to Lafayette earlier this year when her husband, Jeremiah, accepted a job as a librarian and professor at the Edith Garland Dupré Library at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. They have a 2-year-old daughter, Penelope.
