SORRENTO, La. (AP) - Sections of Interstate 10 in Ascension and St. James parishes will be closed this weekend during nighttime and early morning hours for road improvements.
Lauren Lee, spokeswoman for the Louisiana Department of
Transportation and Development, says work crews will be "shot
blasting" concrete pavement segments and bridges in a 10-mile
stretch of I-10 to improve traction.
Lee says the "moving lane closures" will be planned around the work on the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-10 between the La. Highway 22 interchange in Sorrento and the Blind River Bridge.
The bridge in St. James is about three-quarters of a mile west of the La. Highway 641 interchange.
The single-lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. Friday to 5a.m. Saturday and from 8 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
