Parents Warned of Single Whooping Cough in Evangeline Parish

Parents in Evangeline Parish are being warned of a case of whooping cough at Bayou Chicot Elementary.

The state notified the school board yesterday.

The contagious stage has passed, according to a letter sent home to parents.

The department of health and hospitals says there is no need to close the school because there are no other known cases.
