Paincourtville man accused of having sex with teen

PAINCOURTVILLE, La. (AP) - Assumption Sheriff Mike Waguespack says a 39-year-old man has been arrested for having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.
Waguespack says Lonnie Fortner of Paincourtville (PAN'-koor-vil) faces multiple charges of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. The sheriff says Fortner was arrested after the girl's father alerted authorities.
Waguespack says Fortner met with the girl on the pretense of tutoring her at a local church. He says the girl allegedly had sex with Fortner on five occasions in return for gifts that included iPhone, clothing, jewelry and beauty-salon visits.
Fortner remains in the Assumption Parish jail awaiting a bond hearing.
He is a registered sex offender with prior convictions of carnal knowledge and pornography involving a juvenile.
It was unclear whether Fortner has an attorney.
