OWI Check Point Thursday

Lafayette Police officers and Lafayette Sheriff's deputies will be looking for drunk drivers and anyone driving under the influence of other dangerous substances.
The check point is scheduled Thursday, March 17, and will run from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Friday morning. Cpl. Paul Moutons says the check point will be within thecity of Lafayette. "The purpose of the checkpoint is to target impaired drivers under the influence of alcohol or any other dangerous substance," said Mouton.
Officers working the checkpoint will respond with zero tolerance to those drivers found to be under the influence. Designate a driver if you intend to drink, by not doing so, could result in costly fines and serious jail time.
