OWI arrest made in deadly I-10 crash

An arrest has been made in a deadly crash on Nov. 3 that claimed 25-year-old Kelly Theriot's life. "Investigators were able to determine through the investigation that the driver of the Ford pickup was stopped in the lane of travel on I-10 at the time of the crash," Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton said. Theriot ended up rear-ending the stopped vehicle.
According to a toxicology report, Joey Fontenot, 21, was intoxicated. He was arrested on a warrant for OWI and Vehicular Homicide. "In addition to those charges, Fontenot was cited for No Insurance and Impeding the Flow of Traffic," Mouton said.
