Overnight Shooting Turns Fatal

A 45 year old man is dead after a shooting in Lafayette.
Shortly after 11:30, the Lafayette Police Department responded to shots being fired in the 200 block of Vieux Orleans Circle. Upon arrival, officers found the victim shot multiple times outside on the ground. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. A motive for the shooting has not been determined.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the shooting or the identity of the suspect to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
