RACELAND, La. (AP) - An overflow crowd gathered at a church in Raceland for the funeral of a teenager - one of four high school students killed in a traffic accident near Houma.
Mourners described T.J. Cantrelle, the starting quarterback at Vandebilt Catholic High School, as a confident youngster who was always looking for ways to improve. The Houma Courier said Thursday's funeral at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church numbered in the hundreds.
Cantrelle died along with Vandebilt students Ian Haydel, Gabrielle Hebert and Megan Hitt when the truck they were riding in ran off Louisiana Highway 182 early Sunday and flipped into the St. Louis Canal.
