The Original Big 7 Social Aid and Pleasure Club says its "second-line" is returning to the neighborhood where gunfire abruptly ended its Mother's Day celebration leaving 19 people injured.
Club President Edward Buckner says it will hold a "Re-Do Mother's Day Parade" on June 1 at 1 p.m. along the same route and is accepting donations to help cover the costs for a brass band and for shooting victims.
Buckner says their hearts and prayers go out to all of the victims and their families. He says the club is with them in the "struggle for health, wellness and justice."
Meanwhile, authorities are searching for 19-year-old Akein Scott, the suspected triggerman. A $10,000 reward is offered in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-111.
