Opelousas Police arrest Carencro man on drug charges

A Carencro man is facing several charges after Opelousas police say they caught him selling drugs in their city. Jocoby P. Broussard, 28, was arrested after the department's Crime Suppression Team learned Broussard was selling crack cocaine at a business in Opelousas, according to Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow. "Officers approached Mr. Broussard at which time he began to struggle with officers," Gallow said.

Broussard allegedly had 42 rocks of crack cocaine valued at $40 dollars a piece with a total street value of $1700. Broussard is charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II Drugs -Crack Cocaine-, resisting an officer with violence, and criminal damage to property.
