Opelousas Man Booked for Unauthorized Entry

An Opelousas man is behind bars for breaking into a vacant home. Opelousas Police say they were notified around 6pm Friday that a black male wearing a grey hoodie entered a vacant home located 1304 Attakapas Dr. through a window. Police say they and a K-9 officer arrived on scene and advised the individual to come out or the K-9 "Vito" would be deployed. The individual refused to come out; therefore, "Vito" along with K-9 officer Davis entered the home through the same window believed to have been entered by the suspect. Officer Davis gave loud commands for the suspect to come out, but the individual refused. "Vito" was then deployed and quickly apprehended the intruder, identified as 34 year old Draper "Chuckie" Frilot of 116 Nicole Lane in Opelousas. Frilot was transported to the Opelousas General Hospital emergency room regarding an injury to the forearm he received upon his capture. After his release from OGH he was transported to the Opelousas city jail where he was booked for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Frilot remains in the OPD jail.
