Opelousas Man Arrested On Drug Charges

On Thursday 12-10-2009 the Opelousas Police Department's Crime Suppression Team along with the SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 607 East Jefferson Street in reference to drugs being sold from that residence. Officers located approximately 30 crack rocks with a street value of $600.00 as well as a small amount of marijuana and a Colt .380 caliber pistol.
Officers arrested a Mr. Daniel Sonnier who already is a convicted felon. Mr. Sonnier as a convicted felon can not have any type of firearm in his possession. Mr. Sonnier also had 4 kids, ages 5-12, in the residence with this poison.
