Opelousas Drug Arrests

On 10-07-2010 Officers with the Opelousas Police Departments Crime Suppression Team made two narcotics arrest involving two marijuana and crack cocaine dealers. The Crime Suppression Team is in full swing and actively pursuing the individuals who sell this poison. Officers had been gathering information received from concerned citizens about drug activity at the corner of Larry Street and Leo Street. The C.S.T. along with the Opelousas Housing Authority Police watched as the suspected dealers sold drugs when they saw officers approaching they ran on foot. Officers gave chase and caught the drug dealers locating over 33 rocks of crack a cookie of crack cocaine as well as 29 bags of marijuana, and several soma pills. Chief Gallow wants to urge these drug dealers in the City of Opelousas to stop now because the CST will eventually pay you a vist. Anyone with information on drug crimes as well as any other crimes is urged to call the CST office at 337-948-5232 or the drug hotline at 337-942-1692 and all callers will remain anonymous.

Arrested were Lynicks Birotte and Reggis Richard. Both have been charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Drugs {Cocaine} and Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Drugs ( Marijuana}
