Opelousas Celebrates Big for Fat Tuesday

Opelousas is a small city but locals party big on Fat Tuesday.
The holiday kicked off with morning parade, Half Fast Krewe.
Residents say it's just as fun as celebrating in a big city.
"We celebrate Mardi Gras just as much as New Orleans," said Mecca Ford.
Locals enjoy celebrating in Opelousas because they can party with people they know and care about.

"Everybody knows everybody so we just walk down the street and say hey! Some of my friends from school were in the parade today," said Brittany Lognion.

Mardi Gras in Opelousas is a fun time to spend with family and friends.
It's a place where everyone can have a good time.
