A number of Acadiana groups are in Washington, D. C. for the right to life march. Among them are students from Opelousas Catholic School. The group traveled to the nation's capital to take part in today's event, which marks the 41st anniversary of the Supreme Court's ROE V. WADE decision.
Campus Minister John Braham brings the seniors to the march every year. This year, Braham was accompanied by Principal Perry Fontenot, Fr. Jim Brady of St. Landry Church and Fr. Jared Suire of Immaculate Conception in Washington, along with 14 chaperons and 19 seniors.
"This is an excellent opportunity for us to show these kids and their parents that we don't stand alone in the fight for the end of abortion. When we are home we stand with hundreds to even thousands and when your here you stand with hundreds of thousands. This gives these kids a sense of hope that our fight is a fight that is most definitely being heard," said Braham.
