Opelousas Bridge Closed for Replacement

An Opelousas bridge is closed for replacement. Public works officials say the McCarthy Lane bridge will be closed for about four months. It is the third of eight bridges along a canal that will be replaced as part of a deal between the city and federal government. Drivers looking to cross the canal will have to use the bridge on Park Avenue.
