On Monday Jan 7, 2013 at 11:11pm Opelousas Police Department received a call from the owner/clerk of Exxon Tiger Trax located at 971 E. Landry St., stating that he was just robbed at gun point. Patrol officers directed by Lt. Graig LeBlanc converged on the area. At 11:16pm Officer Romalis Curtis advised headquarters that the suspect was in custody, along with the weapon and cash ($114.00). Outstanding work on the part of Team "Charlie". The weapon was determined to be a pellet gun which certainly gives the appearance of a semi-automatic handgun.
The suspect is identified as 19yr old Jacob Robins. Robins confessed to the crime and was later booked into the Opelousas City Jail for First Degree Robbery.
