OPD seeks the public's assistance in locating a man accused of growing pot

Opelousas Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a man accused of growing pot in his backyard.

On Thurs Jan. 24th at 3:15 pm officers with OPD's Crime Suppression Team assisted by St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division conducted a search warrant at 1616 Iris Drive in Opelousas.

Police say they located 60 marijuana plants in the back yard of the residence. OPD has issued an arrest warrant for 38-year-old Lashaun Thomas of 1616 Iris Drive.

Thomas faces charges related to Cultivation of Schedule I(marijuana), Possession of Schedule I, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If you know the whereabouts of Thomas call the OPD at 948-2500.
