Within the past 24 hours, Crowley police have been working on a very active crime scene on the west side of the city.
The first incident took place Saturday, April 5, evening around 6:45 p.m. On North Avenue B. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a male victim critically injured from a gun shot wound. The male subject had been shot in the head, and transferred to a Lafayette hospital where he later died.
Investigators with the Crowley Police Department are actively following leads to identify the shooter of the male subject. The victim's identity will not been released until family is notified.
The second shooting incident occurred Sunday, April 6, around 10:30 a.m. in the 500 block of West Hutchinson Avenue. Police says they believe this shooting is related to the incident that happened on Saturday evening. Investigators say several male subjects were approached by one male, and after a brief dialogue, he allegedly began shooting at the other men sitting inside of a vehicle.
Two of the men inside of the vehicle were shot, and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
These incidents are still under investigation.
