One person has been arrested, and one is still wanted tonight, following a dog-fighting investigation in St. Martin Parish.
The Sheriff's Office says they executed a search warrant Wednesday at a home in the 1400 block of Breaux Bridge Senior High School Rd. in Breaux Bridge. According to investigators, 47 dogs and items associated with dog-fighting were seized.
25-year-old Jason Hasket is charged with 47 counts of cruelty to animals, three drug counts, and two counts of illegal possession of a firearm.
Deputies say they are now looking for 35-year-old Antonio Boyd of Breaux Bridge. He is wanted in connection with suspected dog fighting, drug and weapons charges.
Back in November of 2010, Boyd was arrested on fifteen counts of aggravated cruelty to an animal, eight counts of simple cruelty to animals, and two counts of Dog Fighting. Deputies say the charges in 2010 were the result of a narcotics investigation conducted at the same home.
Anyone with information on Boyd's whereabouts is asked to contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office at (337) 394-3071.
