LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - The new owners of the Crown Casino riverboat in Lake Charles say they plan to put the vessel up for sale.
Bossier Casino Venture LLC closed a deal last week to buy the gambling boat - one of two Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. had in Lake Charles - for $15 million to get the license the company needs for a $197 casino resort in Bossier City.
The American Press reported that the Crown will be stored at the Leevac Shipyard in Lake Charles.
Bossier Casino Venture is building a new boat for Bossier City. The casino, which will be the sixth gambling riverboat in Shreveport-Bossier City, is slated to open in June 2013.
Isle of Capri continues to operate the Grand Palais riverboat casino in Lake Charles.
