Oil Well Blowout Under Control Near Melville

1pm: Authorities tell KATC that nearby residents have been evacuated from the site. All emergency personal, including Haz Mat, Stat, state police, fire department, etc..., are in the area attempting to cap the well. Authorities concluded that it appears to only be steam erupting from the well at this time.

At this time there has been a report of a well blowout on La. 105 2miles north of Melville in St. Landry Parish.
