In Acadia Parish, crews are working to cleanup an oil spill in Crowley.

The oil began spilling yesterday from an oil storage tank near the intersection of Standard Mill Road and Highway 13. That oil has made it's way through drainage canals and into nearby Bayou Blanc.

Area residents are outraged at the response of the Department of Environmental Quality and want the area cleaned up. While our cameras were rolling, oil was stretching from bank to bank at Bayou Blanc. The oil has spread all the way in Bayou Blanc past the city limits to the bridge on Roller Road and beyond.

Coming up at 10, we will have reactions from residents and we will also tell you what the D.E.Q. is doing to help clean this up.
