The International Trade Development Group (ITDG), advisory board to Le Centre International de Lafayette, is pleased to announce that the 2013 International Achievement Award (IAA) will be bestowed upon Oil Center Research International, L.L.C.
The ceremony will take place during the annual Festival International Reception sponsored by Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA) in the lobby of IberiaBank, 200 West Congress Street in downtown Lafayette, on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 6:00pm. This reception will occur immediately before the opening ceremony of Festival International. Mrs. Brenda Stelly, President of Oil Center Research International, L.L.C., will be on hand to receive the award on behalf of her organization.
The selection was based on the very wide international market place reached by Oil Center Research International (OCRI). OCRI is a distributor of industrial lubricants and sealants. Its many products are sold to over 80 countries on 6 continents, to a vast array of clients ranging from oil and gas interests to government agencies, as well as petrochemical, agricultural, marine, transportation, toy, cosmetic and medical companies. OCRI was founded in December 1987 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Its focus was to boost the international sales of a preexisting, locally made product line that was primarily sold in the Gulf Coast region. From the very beginning 100% of OCRI's sales were exports. Today OCRI sells over 1,000 products worldwide. Leslee Haseltine, IAA chair, stated during the January 17th presentation: "We are very pleased to present our annual award to a Lafayette-based company that has grown from a regional player to a very active global exporter thanks to the determination and ingeniousness of its leaders. We wish them the best in the years to come ".
