A Lafayette Consolidated Government employee is without a job. After a co-worker makes a shocking discovery while using the men's room. It happened at the Department of Planning, Zoning and Codes in Lafayette, where Jefferey Larcade worked as a planner for 13 years.
Officials said Larcade hid a camera inside the bathroom, but they don't how long it's been there.
Fifty employees work inside the building and many are men. Officials said one of those men discovered a tiny hidden camera duct- taped inside a urinal.
Corporal Paul Mouton with the Lafayette Police Department said, "the investigators are going to go over the information that was on the camera and determine exactly how many employees that we actually have that were captured on the video.
According to an affadavit, after the employee discovered the camera, he took out the memory card and reviewed it along with other employees. They found photographs and videos of several employees penis'.
Mouton said it may have been going on for quite some time.
He explained, "even though the video may be limited from one day to the other. We have to assume it was happening over a longer period of time, but that will of course come out throughout the course of the investigation."
Investigators said the camera belonged to Jeffery Larcade, who admitted to his co-workers and police the camera was his. Mouton believes only employees were captured because it was an employee-only bathroom.
"Unless there was a customer or someone in the back that they were assisting that was allowed to use the bathroom," he said.
At this point in the investigation, police have no reason to believe any of the images were published online. A spokesperson with LCG said, Larcade was fired Monday morning for violating LCG policies.
Larcade is charged with video voyeurism, he bonded out this weekend.
Officials confiscated all the electronics he's been using and said if they discover he did publish any of those images online, he'll be facing more charges carrying much harsher penalties.
