Officers arrested in felony theft investigation

Opelousas police arrested one of their own and a Ville Platte police officer. Both officers are charged with obstruction of justice and malfeasance in office, Public Information Officer Darren Zachary said. This afternoon, police arrested Opelousas Police Officer Yolanda Lewis and Villle Platte Officer Nicholas Frank. An investigation into conspiracy to commit a felony theft started in Ville Platte and led investigators to Opelousas, Zachary said. Yolanda Lewis' husband, Quinten Lewis, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit felony theft, possession of stolen goods, and obstruction of justice. We're expecting more details shortly from Opelousas police.
