Officer shot during motel drug bust

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Three men are behind bars after a
Shreveport police officer was shot during a multiagency drug bust.
Just before 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers and deputies with the Shreveport, Caddo Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on a motel room in west Shreveport.
Sgt. Bill Goodin, Shreveport police spokesman, says three men were arrested during the raid, and a large quantity of suspected narcotics was confiscated.
As the team was making entry into the room, Goodin says a single shot was fired from within, striking one of the officers in his bulletproof vest.
He said the officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment, although his injuries appeared minor.
Goodin did not release the identity of the officer or the three arrested men.
