LAKE ARTHUR, La. (AP) - A Lake Arthur police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave following an officer-involved shooting that left a man injured.
Police Chief Cheryl Vincent tells the American Press the victim, Arthur Guillory is in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries at an area hospital Monday after being shot in the abdomen by the police officer.
Vincent says the shooting is being investigated by state police.
The shooting occurred just before 2 a.m. Sunday as police were responding to a domestic disturbance call.
The officer has not been identified.
