Obama discusses economy, deficit on Wednesday

WASHINGTON (AP) - The economy and the deficit are on President Barack Obama's agenda Wednesday.
The president and the Senate Democratic Caucus will meet to discuss their legislative plans, including how to approach the deficit.
Earlier in the day, Obama will participate in a CBS News town hall meeting on the economy at the Newseum in Washington.
The president and first lady will host an evening celebration of American poetry and prose at the White House. Elizabeth Alexander, Billy Collins, Common, Rita Dove, Kenneth Goldsmith, Alison
Knowles, Aimee Mann and Jill Scott will read, sing and highlight
poetry's influence on American culture.
The celebration also will include students from across the
country.
