PONCHATOULA, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say a New York
man is accused of selling a stolen front loader and possessing
other stolen heavy equipment.
Trooper Nick Manale said Friday that 52-year-old James Hurst was
booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on charges of felony theft
and possessing stolen property.
Manale says investigators following up on information from a
Caterpillar security worker found Hurst, a Caterpillar backhoe and
a John Deere 60-inch power brush at a Ponchatoula home. They say
the three machines were worth $90,000.
It was not clear whether Hurst had an attorney.
