Erath High School is the number one public high school in Louisiana for the second year in a row. Erath High received a school performance score of 162.
"It's a total effort of a community, administration and a student body that has focused on doing its very best," said Former Principal Francis Touchet.
Jed Hebert is now the current principal at Erath High and he's not surprised by the latest honor.
"It's actually a phenomenal school, everything is in place here and our students are learning at a very high level," said Herbert.
This past year, the school performance scores took into account "End Of Course Testing". This coming year, they'll be based on not only those scores, but also graduation rate, and act scores. Principal Herbert says they're already preparing for next year by having the students take practice ACT Test.
Also in addition to the high performance score, Erath High also maintained its "A-rating".
