The domestic terror attacks last week in Norway may seem like a world away to many in Acadiana, but for one student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the attacks literally hit close to home. Andrea Hole is from Oslo, Norway and has been in Louisiana for just three weeks, she's an incoming freshman on the UL Volleyball team.

"At first, I [couldn't] contact all my family and friends at home," said Hole, who learned about the attacks from a friend on campus. "I was scared."

The initial bombing in Oslo occurred just 10 minutes from Hole's home, so initially she was worried that some of her loved ones may have been hurt. After a few hours she was able to reach her family by phone and luckily everyone was okay. The tragedy is however, a large-scale event for such a small country and Hole did know some of the victims of the attacks, through friends.

"Everybody does know someone who was affected or passed away that day," she said.
