Northside High principal walks out

Northside High School Principal Melinda Voorhies walked out today and no one knows why, including Superintendent Dr. Pat Cooper. He tells KATC the principal resigned, but he isn't accepting her resignation until he talks to her. "I'm completely in the dark," he said.
The principal walked out and had her secretary deliver her resignation. Cooper has been unable to reach Voorhies by phone. He says he is not aware of any problems. Assistant principals and the assistant superintendent will be in charge tomorrow.
