NOPD seeking help to locate & ID an alleged armed robbery suspect

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Police Department seeks public help to locate and identify an unknown male wanted in connection with an alleged armed robbery that occurred Monday night at the Auto Zone located in New Orleans East.

Last night, shortly before 9:00 p.m., the subject entered the business at at 9200 Morrison Road brandishing a chrome revolver handgun demanding money from the cash registers. The employees complied and placed an undisclosed amount of currency into the subject's black bag. The subject subsequently left the store and entered the passenger side of a green, possibly teal, unknown make/model vehicle and fled eastbound on Morrison Road, then unknown.

The subject was described as an African-American male, dark complexion, approximately 5'4" to 5'5" in height, thin build, approximately 115 to 120 pounds, and wearing a blue/white handkerchief to conceal his nose and mouth. He was last seen wearing a red hooded jacket with a plaid hood, black pants, possibly 'Dickie' brand, white gloves, a dark-colored baseball hat, and dark-colored shoes with white soles.

The handgun was described as a chrome revolver, possibly a .357 Smith & Wesson, with a brown handle.
