SEATTLE (AP) - So far, so good for Microsoft's newest operating system for the personal computer. The new OS has reached its first few weeks on the market without the need for any security fixes.
Windows 7 was released on October 22 and in the latest round of security patches issued this week, there were no fixes in the bunch for the new system. A researcher with the antivirus software
company Symantec says that's to be expected. Ben Greenbaum says it will likely take attackers a while to figure out ways to exploit the new operating system.
