No. 1 LSU-Eunice Survives Elimination Game vs. Scottsdale CC

The LSU Eunice baseball team (53-5) won today's elimination game over Scottsdale Community College by a score of 3-2.
Cody Boutte (NISH) (8-1) started on the mound and pitched 8 2/3 innings, allowing nine hits and two runs with one walk and four strikeouts to get the win. Patrick Michon (Porter, TX) came on to record the final out and tally his 16th save of the season.
At the plate, Drew Forbes (Denham Springs) went 2-for-4 with two singles, one run scored, and one stolen base. Forbes stole home in the second inning to record the Bengals first run. Casey Rodrigue (Brother Martin) also had two hits, going 2-for-2 with a bunt single and a double. Stuart Turner (Eunice) went 1-for-3 with a go-ahead two-run homerun in the bottom of the eigth inning. The homerun was Turner's seventh of the season.
The Bengals will now play tomorrow, May 30th, at 3:30 PM with their opponent to be determined after tonight's 7:00 pm game between Western Oklahoma and Des Moines.
