Vermilionville, a hub for local culture and entertainment, will host a two-night Francophone film series as part of the 9th annual Cinema on the Bayou Festival. "Vue du Bayou" is in its second year at the living history museum and folklife park and will feature French language films (subtitled in English) from Canada, France and Louisiana. The films will be followed by retrospectives with their filmmakers.
Films kick off Thursday, January 23rd at 3 pm in Vermilionville's performance center. Entry is $5 at the door for all films and includes a reception sponsored by the Office of the Consulate General of France in New Orleans. Festivities on Friday, January 24th will also begin at 3 pm in the performance center, with an entry fee of $5 from 3 pm-5 pm. After 5 pm, films are $5 each, or $10 for the entire evening which includes musical performances by Texas group The Blues Conundrum and local rockers and favorites Bas Clas.
