THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Nicholls State University will become a
tobacco-free campus effective Jan. 1.
University spokeswoman Renee Piper says the policy change
prohibits the use of tobacco in any form.
The current policy prohibits the use of tobacco products within
25 feet of campus buildings, on sidewalks or inside university
buildings. That policy remains in effect until Dec. 31.
Information about programs and services available to assist
students, faculty and staff in making the transition to a
tobacco-free campus will be distributed at the beginning of the
fall semester.
