Nicholls faculty, staff, organize food drive

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Faculty and staff at Nicholls State University are donating their time to help the Thibodaux Food Bank and other area food banks.
A Nicholls news release says there's a growing need for such aid: The number of people who used the Thibodaux Food Bank's services in 2011 reached 3,467 - a 30 percent increase over 2010.
Volunteers at Nicholls are collecting non-perishable foods beginning Friday. The "Nicholls CAN" drive will last through Friday, March 23.
